Philosophical Society
Another successful year was revealed in the annual report of the Wellington Philosophical Society, submitted to the annual, meeting last . evening. Eight, meetings were held during the season, and the attendance at each was good. The finances ’of the society are iu a healthy state. ■ Tho election of officers resulted as follow:—President, Dr. E. Marsden; vicepresidents, Dr. P. Marshall. and Dr. J. Henderson; council, Professor Somerville, Mr. H. E. Fyfe, Dr. E. Kidson, Mr. G. A. Lawrence, Mr. W. R. B. Oliver, Dr, C. 13. Adams, Mr. W. Donovah, Dr. W. P. Evans, Mr. F. W. Furkert, Mr. A. E. Hefford, Professor H. Kirk, and Mr. W. J. Phillips; secretary, Air. F. R. Callaghan ; auditor. Mr. 13. R. Dymock.
