Director Retiring
At the end of the year Sir Frederic Kenyon, who has completed 21 years as director and principal librarian of the British Museum, will retire. He fields more than' 20 degrees and academic distinctions. ■ . Sir Frederic had only just entered the services of the museum when the institution acquired a valuable collection of Greek papyri, and it fell to him to edit Wiem. He has also edited editions of the classics which have become handbooks in the schools and universities, and has written on the Bible and' military subjects. Great administrative abilities were revealed by Sir Frederic, and the museum authorities were so impresed with his work that they extended his period of office for three years after he had reached the age limit of 65. It was for his services at the museum that he was knighted in 1912.
