Card Evening

A successful evening was held in St. James’s Hall recently. There were about 130 people present, and bridge and five hundred were played till about 10 p.m., after which supper and dancing followed. The winners of the five hundred were Mesdames Savill and Mouat, and Messrs. McMillan and Pointon. The bridge winners were Mrs. Jamieson and Mr. Reddington. The cake, which was given by Mrs. Wilkie, was won by Mrs. Bolt. The ladies’ committee which was responsible for the evening comprised: Mesdames Sines, Savage. Mair, Mowatt, Alexander, Taylor, Jollands, Wallace, Binning, Salt, C. Parker, Foster, King, Brooks, and Miss Brooks, who is honorary secretary. The proceeds go to the St. Jamess Church heating and furnishing fund.
