Value of Moving Exhibits The exhibitors at the Winter Show in the manufacturers’ section were enteitained to dinner last night by the executive ot the Wellington Manufacturers Association, about 70 being present. .1 . ot? 0 ’ the association the chairman extended a hearty welcome to the exhibitors, saying they desired 0 co-operate with them. Hie association took the responsibility of the manufacturers’ section, and, having regard to the. existing conditions, the show was an excellent one. Their exh.bits good iu quality and varied, and wheic possible of a working natuie. there was little doubt that without their. section the Winter Show would probably not be possible. Any suggestions put forward would be well considered, they could not dictate the policy of the Winter Show Association. On behalf of the Manufacturers’ Association he thanked the exhibitors for the support they had given. .... The toast of “The Exhibitors was proposed by the chairman and.responded to bv Mr. ‘Vickerman. Mr. Vickennan said they were there ns manufacturers, and while some ot the machines were noisy they attracted the young idea. The loom had. been noisy, but had attracted the attention 01. nearly all visitors to the show. It was important that they should have someone on the stalls who could tell the voting people how the goods were made. It had been a hard year financially; and because of other attractions the.attendance had not been quite so large. It was hardly right to put on counter-at-tractions when the Winter Show, which was a citizens’ effort, was on.
