WINTER SHOW
Special Attractions To-day LAST TWO DAYS Special efforts are being made to make the Winter Show more attractive than usual for the last two.days. The Manufacturers’ Association is awarding 20 £1 prizes for a spotting competition. Certain New Zealand products will be placed on stalls to which they do not belong, and it is for the public to find these articles. When the article is discovered it Is to bo taken to the Manufacturers’ Association’s office near the main entrance where the reward will be paid. The competition will not start until 8 o’clock to-night, and it is probable that other competitions also will be going on. Tomorrow the Manufacturers’ Association will provide a free ride on the merry-go-round and a school ruler to every child visiting the exhibition, and about 150 special prizes also are being awarded among the youngsters. In addition, the broadcast report of the Rugby test match will be heard in all parts of the building. The Wellington Kennel Club annual exhibition will open at the Winter Show at 10 a.m. to-day, and judging in the rings will proceed all day. The exhibition is to be opened at 11 a.m. bv his Excellency the GovernorGeneral, lAird Bledisloe. There are several championships to be awarded, and some of the finest and most valuable dogs in New Zealand will comPCtC ’ Takings Better. The receipts on Wednesday weic £153, against £l3O/0/6 on the corresponding day last year. The total of takings is now £498 less than last year, and with all the additional attractions it is hoped that the last three days will do more than make up the leevtay.
