Assault on Constable FIVE MEN SENTENCED (By Radio—Special to Press Association.) Apia, July 24. Convicted of assaulting and causing grievous bodily harm to Constable Grant at Papa, Savaii, on June 23 last, five Samoans were sentenced yesterday, Famultato and Taematua each to five years, Valmaa. Faaiu, and Kolose, each to eighteen months’ imprisonment with hard labour. The case was heard by Judge Luxford and four assessors. It is alleged that an attempt to burn the house of Chief Afamasaga was made early yesterday morning, and slight damage was done.
