WEEK-END WEATHER
Cold and Wintry A dull winter’s day, with a bitterly cold southerly wind, was experienced iu Wellington on Saturday. Conditions became very stormy in the early part of the evening, and very heavy rain fell steadily. There was brilliant sunshine for the most part of yesterday, though the wind was rather cold. Sixty-one points of rain were recorde'd during the week-end with the “Dominion" rain-gauge. A “Domihion” Special telegram stated that the weather was fine at Auckland during the week-end, the wind being a light south-westerly. Conditions were bright and sunny on Saturday, but were cloudy on Sunday. The barometer was steady at 30.05 inches. Though the weather was fine at Christchurch on Saturday morning, it became overcast early in the afternoon, and at three o’clock steady rain set in and continued till well into the night. Sunday was perfect, there being bright warm sunshine. The barometer had a falling tendency. The weather was dull and overcast in Dunedin on Saturday, there being a fresh wind from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 56 degrees. The barometer showed a falling tendency, the reading on Saturday evening being 30.05. Sunday was sunny all day, with a fresh southwesterly breeze. The maximum thermometer was 52, with the barometer falling.
