BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY
Improvements to Masterton Masterton, June 13. The allocation 'of a considerable sum of money for beautifying works was approved at a meeting of the committee of the Masterton Beautifying Society last night. ■ • A report of the society’s finances showed that there was a credit balance of £9OO on hand. £2OO is to be expended on maintenance, etc., £3OO for the Waipoua River-bed scheme, and £l5O for expenditure on the Pownall Street section. The balance of £250 is to be expended as follows: —Park fernery, £2O; trees for Masterton Park, £5; clearing Wrigley Estate section, £25; Kuripuni Triangle, £5O; seats, £3O; pruning, £l2; and replacement of trees, £lO.
