WANGANUI SUCCESSES

Life-Saving Competition The chief secretary of the Royal LifeSaving Society (Mr. S. J. Monks), whose headquarters are in London, has advised Mr. C. S. Swan, secretary of the Wanganui branch, that Wanganui has come fourth in the world-wide competition for the William Henry Memorial Cup. The results were; — Sheffield branch (England), 1; New South Wales, 2; Ontario, 3; Wanganui, 4. The Wanganui Girls’ College was not eligible to compete for the Mrs. Henry Cup, as the conditions of the trophy only enable Home teams to compete. If they had been eligible, read the letter, they would have occupied fifth place. The points gained by the first five competitors were: Leeds Training College, 805 points; Ashford High School, 887; Malvern Girls’ College, 792; Bedford P.T. College, 785; and Wanganui Girls’ College, 727.
