' This morning’s work consisted of a row up the river for about four miles at a steady pace, Mr. Ayres accompanying the crew in a launch. As-was only to be expected with men used to different styles getting together for the first time,, the rowing wias a bit ragged, but they are expected to acquire combination after a few rows together. The men are all keen. On,the return journey the crew struck a rain squall and the boat became nearly; waterlogged, off Halswell Street, necessitating cautious rowing back to the shed. ,
