KIDNAPPED OFFICER

NEW ZEALANDER’S EXPERIENCE. A cablegram from Delhi last Saturday reported the kidnapping at Quetta by border raiders anil subsequent release ot Mrs. Frere and her husband, Captain K. T. Frere, a New Zealander. Captain Frere was born in Waverley, and was educated at Huntly School, near Marton, and later at Hailebury and Woolwich. He served in Mesopotamia during the Great War. and was wounded and mentioned in dispatches. As a member of the Norfolk Regiment he has seen extensive service in India.
