LONDON WOOL SALES
' PRICES FULLY FIRM
London, May 16. Offerings at the wool sales to-day were 8541 bales, including 501 New Zealand. About 6980 bales were sold. There was a large offering of greasy scoured merinos, but a poor selection of New Zealand crossbreds. Prices were fully firm. Murray, Roberts & Co. Ltd. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, dated May 16:—Sales continue with a good tone. Compared with last London sales closing rates, greasy merino, best descriptions, advanced 5 per cent.; medium to good advanced 7} per cent.; inferior advanced 10 per cent. Scoured merino, inferior, market shows no material change. Compared with present London sales opening rates, crossbred greasy medium and coarse, and crossbred slipe, market shows a hardening tendency. •
