PALMERSTON NORTH SALE
The monthly sale of wool, sheepskins and hides was held at Palmerston North on Wednesday by Abraham and Williams, Ltd., who report that wool showed an advance of }d. to Jd. per lb. above last sale. Sheepskins: Strong demand for dry skins, prices being frequently }d. to Id. per lb. higher. Salted skins sold on a par with last sale. Hides: A fair demand at par to l-8d better than last sale. Tallow met with a weak market, prices declining 20/to 30/- per ton. Prices ranged as follow:— Wool: Southdown, B}d. to 9d.; crossbred, coarse 7jd to 7]d.. inferior 6d. to 7d.; lambs, 1 s}d. to B}d.; crutclilng, inferior, 4d. to 5d.; locks and pieces. 3d. to -sd. Sheepskins: Crossbred, fine 81d. to 9(1.. medium B}d. to BJd., coarse 7}d. to Bd.; quarter to half wools, 7}d. to Bd.; lambs, 6}d. to B}d.; crossbred, damaged and inferior, 6}d. to 7}d.; salted skins, crossbred, heavy. 5/2 each; medium, 3/9 to 4/3; pelts. 2/11 to 3/6.
