ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE
The monthly meeting of the Wellington corps of St. John Ambulance Brigade Overseas was held on Alonday. Air. Dutton, corps superintendent, occupied the .chair. ’There was a large attendance of members and public visitors, including Air. Scott, of AVanganui, and several district officers. A letter of thanks for assistance rendered on Anzac Day was received from the Defence Department. The assistant commissioner presented the warrant of district officer to Air. Ward, who was asked to present the following:—Air. W. Dutton with the warrant of corps superintendent, and Alessrs. Black, S. C. Smith, and Howell with those of divisional superintendents. The superintendent congratulated the suburban nursing division of the I’etonc Ambulance on their success in the recent Wa nga nui com pet i t ion s. On behalf of the Wellington South Nursing Division. Airs. Betts, superintendent, presented an enlarged photograph of the division to Ihe corps. Air. Dutton. expressed great pleasure in accepting the gift, which will bang in I lie association rooms. Dr. Rhind gave a lecture oti “Alitior Ailments of Children.” which proved most interesting, and one from which every parent could gain great benefit. He explained why children awoke at night, and bow the position of tt sleeping child was an indication of health. Tie described frequent mistakes of diet of children. and how to correct their irregular habits. At the conclusion Dr. Rhind answered several questions and was given a hearty vote of thanks. Occasion was taken to bid farewell to Mrs. Day, corps secretary, who is leaving on an extended visit of England and the Continent.
