WANGANUI NOTES
Wanganui, May 3. Mr. H. R. Beauehamp, Wanganui, who will leave shortly with, his wife and family for a trip to Europe, was .farewelled on Friday night by members of the Commercial Club. Mr. F. J. Hill, on behalf of the members, presented Mr. Beauchamp with a camera. The Rev. T. A. Brady, of Wellington, has arrived at Wanganui to take up the pastorate of Gonville Methodist Church. Messrs. Mark Nicholls and A. Mercer will be in Wanganui shortly to assist the Wanganui team in their training operations in preparations for the match against the British team. Applications for seats for the match in which the British Rugby team will play at Wanganui on May 21 are coming in already. The Rangitijcei Union has applied for 250. The Railway Department intend running special trains for the match, i Mushrooms have been very plentiful lately in’districts round Wanganui. They are selling at lOd. a lb. At the annual meeting of the Marton Returned Soldiers’ Association the following officers were elected: President, Mr. G. B. Gregory (re-elected); honorary secretary,- Mr. G. Benbow (re-elected); honorary treasurer, Mr. W. McCully (reelected); committee, Messrs. C. C. McDonald, H, Baxter and H. H. Williams.
