SYDNEY SWEPT
PHENOMENAL STORM Sydney, April 11. Sydney was swept during the night by a phenomenal storm, which lashed the metropolitan area for an hour. The wine reached a velocity of 40 miles an hour, and 39 points of rain fell in 35 minutes. Miniature rivers flowed down every street, and the water banked up six feet high under a bridge in Ultimo, while efforts were made to rescue a woman who was nearly drowned.
