FARMERS CONCERNED ■ x By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, March 31. A largely-attended meeting of Taumarunui farmers on Saturday night, convened to discuss the menace of deer, passed the following resolution: “That this representative meeting of farmers of the Taumarunui district, request the Department of Internal Affairs to make strong representations to the conference of organisations interested in the control of deer in New Zealand, to be held on April 11, concerning the serious position that has arisen in this district by the destruction ol turnip crops and pastures, due to the alarming increase in the herd in the district.”
