CARtekton branch meeting. Dominion Special Service. Carterton, February 1. At a meeting of the Carterton branch of the Farmers’ Union It was decided to support the application of the Wairarapa South County Council to the Minister of Internal Affairs to have the protection on hares in the county removed. In reply to a question from the union the Department of Agriculture advised that bees played no part In the alteration of the variety of potatoes through the tuber. The tender of Messrs. T. Borthwick and Sons was accepted for -the cull cow drive. A committee was set up to see the cows handled, and the veterinary officer is to l>e asked to report on any cows specially marked for the information of the owners.
