WANGANUI FIGURES. OoMTNfON <m-t:AI s,. l-vITF Twenty-seven building permits, representing a total of £7574, were issued by the Wanganui City Council during January. The total was made up as follows : Four dwellings, new. £3461.; six dwellings, alterations and additions. ±3’ H 10/-; nine motor sheds, new, • £253/10/-1 three sheds, new, £5O; one addition to store, £11; one addition to shop, ±2320: one addition to hotel, £3O; one addition to Jubilee Home. £397; one bowser station, new. £750. Total, £7574. PALMERSTON NORTH TOTAL DOWN. Permits for the erection of and alterations to buildings representing a total value of £16,868 were issued by the Palmerston North Borough Council during January. Compared with tlie returns for the corresponding month of last year there is a decrease of £10,736, the absence of permits for large business premises being mainly responsible for the reduction. Permits were issued for 14 new houses; these representing a value of £11.502. Alterations to business premises for which permits were issued accounted for £3OOl. Included in the returns is a permit of £950 for the erection of the West End School baths.
