EFFECT ON PUMICE LAND VALUE OF EXPERIMENTS The appointment of a special committee to report on the-progress of experiments at Mairoa and Te Kuiti, in connection with mineral content of pasture research, and to make suggestions for the future work, was announced by the Minister in Charge of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (Hon. 11. Atmore), yesterday. \ The committee is to consist of Professors Malcolm and Denham, and Messrs. T. Rigg, Q. Donald, and B. C. Aston, and it is to spend four days in the locality. “The visit,” said the Minister, in an interview with a “Dominion” representative, “is necessary to size up on the spot-The situation as regards the value of the evidence forthcoming, and the result of geological survey, soil survey, psysiological examination of animals, and analysis of pasture.” The Blinistef considered the report of the committee would be invaluable in connection with the development of the King Country and pumice lands.
