Boot has been falling steadily for more than I a year, and the chief feature of the decline has been the weakness of tne wools of finest grade. It has been recognised, also, that When '* does begin to fair it falls farther aud faster than the economic situation explains or justifies, and that wl *®“ rises again it rises too far. swings to extremes are not good fo anybody, and one way to check them and hold wool for a long time at some thing like a fair value, is to get it driven into the public mind that woo is a commodity for which there 18 substitute at anything like the sum price.
