The Indian National Congress, through its Subjects Committee, definitely decided to support Gandhi’s motion for independence and a boycott of the Legislatures. . Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, in his presidential address, appealed to the country to sever the connection with Britain, for the attainment of which he advocated the non-payment of taxes In specific areas, the calling of general strikes by workers, and a complete, boycott of the Legislatures.
