PARAPARAUMU SPORTS

SUCCESSFUL MEETING WELLINGTON ATHLETES SUCCESSFUL The eleventh annual sports meeting held under the auspices of the Pyraparaumu Amateur Athletic Association took place at the Memorial Grounds yesterday. The events were run off according to schedule and a high standard was maintained throughout. Although light rain fell in the morning the track was in good order when the principal events took place. Wellington athletes met with conspicuous success, winning the majority of the events. Among those competing were M. Leadbetter who, although conceding over seven yards, finished second in the one hundred yards open handicap. High praise is due to the officials, who controlled the meeting admirably.
