A STOLEN RUG
POLICE LOOKING FOR OWNER. The police are anxious to discover the owner of a rug of South Australian make, which was stolen from a motorear parked in the vicinity of Buckle Street, near the Basin Reserve, during the cricket match on Monday afternoon. Two men have been arrested by Detectives Kearney and Hayhurst in connection with the matter, and they appeared before Messers. D. Keir and T. Coltnian, J.P.’s, in the Magistrate’s. Court on Tuesday morning. In hrder that the police can find the owner of the rug, however, the case was adjourned until Friday so that further inquiries can be made. The two man accused, Charles Edward Hills, aged 36. and William Wilson, aged 57. were said by DetectiveSergeant Holmes to have been seen hanging about the town toge.’ er on Monday, and they had been drinking methylated spirits. A large number of motor-cars were parked near the Busin Reserve, and the accused were observed to be acting suspiciously. They were later seen with the rug, which Wilson admitted he had taken from one of the motor-cars,
