DAMAGE BY FIRE

EARLY MORNING OUTBREAK fll A fire occurred at 40 Cambridge Terrace early ou Tuesday morning, which affected two other buildings. Nos. 39 and 41. The alarm was given at 12.55 a.m., but by that time the Hames had gained, a good hold on, No. 40, a woo'cLiand brick building of two floors, containing flve rooms, occupied by James Francis O’Sullivan, and used a's a private residence and grocer’s shop. The 'building with its contents was damaged by tire and water. The stock and other contents were insured for £7OO and £3OO respectively in the .Alliance Office. There is also a policy for £9OO in the State Office on the building.- Some furniture in the building belonging to Mrs. A. Bray was insured for £lOO in the State Office. No. 39 Cambridge Terrace is also of two floors, containing flve,rooms and a shop, the latter being occupied by Thelma Adelaide Glover, milliner. Slight damage-was done only , to the shop and contents. The shop is insured for £l5O in th<! State Office. Mrs. Bridget Baker occupied the residential portion of the building, known as 39a. The landing on the first floor was damaged by fire and water, and the remaining rooms suffered from heat. < The contents are insured for £2OO in, the Alliance Office, and the residence fqr. £675 in the State Office. Slight damage to the building, mainly by heat, was done to No. 41, which is of similar construction to the other two buildings; -The place was used as an apartment house and book establishment, and was'occupied by John Farquharsiyi. The contents are uninsured, but the building is covered for £lOOO in the State Office.
