From Los Angeles, via Papeete, the Union Company’s trans-Pacitic steamer Waiotapu arrived early on Tuesday morning and berthed to unload about -’3OO tons of cargo from Pacific Coast ports. From Auckland she will go to M cllington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney to complete discharge. The cargo was loaded at Vancouver. Ocean Falls, San I'ranclsco, and San Pedro. The vessel sailed from San Pedro on November 2u and cleared Papeete on December 12. I'air weather prevailed, except during the last live davs of the voyage, when a succession of westerly gales with rough head seas was encountered nnd delayed the vessel’s arrival by over 24 hours. In addition to cargo, the vessel brought two bison and one beaver for the Auckland Zoo. Another beaver escaped from its cage and jumped overboard tlie day after the Waiotapu left Ocean Falls.
