UNIQUE OCCASION

ARCHBISHOP REDWOOD’S ACHIEVEMENT By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru. November 27. A civic reception to-day was accorded Archbishop Redwood, of Wellington, Bishop Brodie . (Christchurch), Bishop White (Dunedin), and other clergy, who are visiting Timaru in connection with the jubilee of the Convent of the Sacred Heart. There was a very large attendance of the public. The occasion was unique in that Archbishop Redwood, who is the senior Bishop of the world, laid the foundation-stone of the convent on February 1, 1880. In the evening the parishioners presented Father Peoples. S.M.. with an illuminated adddress'on the occasion of the silver jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood.
