WELLINGTON GIRLS’ COLLEGE.
An invitation is extended to parents, old girls and friends to be present nt prepared speech day to be held nt the college to-morrow at 2.30 p.m.
The ladies of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Levin, met recently to do honour to their minister’s wife (Mrs. R. Crocket) with a surprise and farewell party. Beautiful bouquets of flowers were presented on entering the manse. Boon after the arrival of the company Mrs. Murray on behalf of the various organisations made a speech and asked Mrs. Crocket to accept as a token of esteem and'appreciation for all she had done for the church their gift, which was a leather nurse containing a wallet of notes. Mrs. W. Davie also added words of appreciation, after wliieh Mrs. Crocket suitably replied. A very hearty musical evening was spent. Mrs. Mew presided at the piano. Mrs. Clifford and Miss Clifford, along with others, contributed • several items, after which a dainty supper was served, bringing to a close a very enjoyable evening. ,
