A NEW LAUNCH

SERVICE ON WAIKAREMOANA. The Tourist Department’s new launch for service on Lake Waikaremoana will be put iuto the water next week. The launch is a handsome vessel, and has been built by - Mr. B. J. L. Jukes, of Balena Bay, Wellington. It has seating accommodation for 50 passengers, is 35ft. long, Oft. in beam, and sft. in depth. The boat is propelled by a 40 h.p. petrol engine, which will develop about 9 knots. Electric lighting is provided, and the comfort of travellers is catered tor as far as possible in a launch of such dimensions. The launch will be running on the lake in time for the Christmas holidays.
