RHODES SCHOLARSHIP TRUST
GRANT TO CHRISTCHURCH STUDENT • By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, November 25. J. H. Lascelles, head Prefect at Christ’s College, has been awarded a grant of £250 annually for three years from the Rhodes Scholarship Trust to enable him to study at Oxford. This grant, it is explained, has been given as a mark of appreciation of the services rendered by his father, Lieut.Colonel E. W. Lascelles, in connection with the Overseas Soldiers' and Sailors’ Scholarship Fund. Lascelles Junior has had a good record at Christ’s College, having won the Junior University Scholarship for the past three years, but on the last occasion declined the scholarship, which is tenable only at a New Zealand University College. Lascelles was going to England in any case. He will now probably enter Oxford next year.
