DANCE RECITAL

.MISS K. O’BRIEN'S PUPILS. The dance recital given by the pupils of Miss Kathleen O’Brien, before a crowded audience, in flic Town Halt Concert Chamber last night, reflected great credit on both teacher and pupils. In a long and varied programme, even the smallest child went through its work faultlessly, showing how thorough had been the training it had received. Tile rich colours and designs of the costumes were aii outstanding feature of the recital. Before a black background, the Irish ballet flaunted its short green and scarlet skirts, a golden dragonfly danced out of the darkness, and afterwards demure village maidens stepped daintily with their lads. There were other more stirring performances, among them being the slave dance, the death .of the Indian chief, and “Pirate.” "Ten Minutes’ Peep at the Baby Class” was ten minutes of surprises. It seemed that the occupants of a doll shop had wakened to life when a troupe of tiny dancers went through their special little steps in turn. It could not have been very long since the leader of the troupe had mastered the art of walking, yet she delighted a large audience with her “Soldier Dance.” The many proud parents and visitors who attended the recital must have felt grateful to Miss O'Brien and those assisting her for the delightful entertainment provided.
