ON THE DIRT TRACK
CHAMPIONS APPEAR TO-NIGHT. With more dirt track motor-cyclists of note taking pari in to-night’s meeting at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway, and with an international contest included on the programme, there is every prospect of the occasion being the greatest since the introduction of the new sport to New Zealand. Harry Mangham, a New Zealander who built up a great reputation in Australia, and Arthur Mann, an Australian with a very fine record, are appearing for the first time in Wellington, and three other Australians. Syd. Perkins, Billy Sticpewich and Jimmy Datson, are expect.ed to show up much more» prominently than they did last week. The Australian team as a whole is very keen to carry off the honours in the International Gold Sash Scratch. In Mangham, Kilmister, McKenzie, Morgan and Harvie they will find tough opposition. The thrills of the sport are likely to be brought out to the full tonight. A notice regarding the meeting and the booking of seats appears elsewhere in this issue.
