OTAKI NOTES
Butter has been reduced locally by a penny per lb. A dance was held at Manakau last night to raise money for the district nurse’s car. .As a result of the function a substantial amount was raised and there is now over £lOO inthand. The erection of a Presbyterial church at Otaki is proceeding apace, while a new church for the. Anglicans should be in hand early in the New Year. Constable Carran has received notice of transfer to Ngaruawahia and leaves next week for his new quarters. There is an abundance of feed in the district and stock is looking particularly well, Shearing is well advanced and already several farmers have “ctft out.”
