CARTERTON FLOWER SHOW

, Carterton, November 22. The rose, and sweet pea show of the Carterton Horticultural Society was held this afternoon, and was very successful. Competition in most classes was keen, and some excellent blooms were on view. The champion rose was exhibited by Mrs. Arch. Clark, and the champion pansy by Mrs. U. G. Scharnweber. Among the visitors to the show was Mrs. J. Wilson, one of the leading English breeders of daffodils, who is visiting New Zealand. The points prizes were won as follow : Cut flowers. Mrs. IV. H. Booth. 86 points: fruit and vegetables, Mr. A. King, 36‘ points; cut blooms. Miss Lyford. 81 points; special for home produce. Mrs. W. Chew.
