Elders resumed command of tlie Waipiata recently, relieving Captain J. G. Watson, who has transferred to the command of Kalkorai. Captain S. A. Whyborn, of the Komata, is on holiday at Wellington. Mr. L. G. Ramsay, chief officer of Kiwitea, has been invalided ashore at Sydney, and Mr. T. A. McPherson has been appointed to the ship temporarily. Mr. S. H. Crawford has joined the Wahine as third officer, relieving Mr. L. R. Deer, second engineer of the Kaitoke, has resigned in order to take up a shore position. Mr. L. B. Clark is joining the Kaitoke as second engineer in his place. Mr. H.
