ENGLISH-SPEAKING UNION
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive committee of the English-speaking Union was held on Friday last, Mr. A. Hunt (chairman) presiding. There were also present: Mesdames Preston, Ffitch and Carter, and Messrs. Greig, Salt, and Clabburn. The secretary was directed to ascertain the names af mennbers of the Wellington branch of the English-speaking Union who would be in Auckland on December 1 the date of the arrival of the s.s. ‘ Malolo with a party of 300 American tourists, with a view to arranging for a welcome to those in the party who were members of the EngHsh-speaking Union m the United States of America A finance committee was set up consisting of Messrs. Greig, Ffitch and Salt. Mention was made of the Armistice Day Service which has been held on November 11 each year in the conference hall ot tne Dominion Farmers’ Institute, and the chairman expressed the wish that a ia.rge number of members of the union, would, be able to attend,
