A SERIOUS CHARGE

TWO MEN FOUND NOT GUILTY. The trial of Harold Mather and Walter David Robinson on a charge of indecent assault was concluded in the Supreme Court on Saturday morning. The Chief Justice (Hon. M. Myers) was on the Bench. Mr. P. S. K. Maeassey (Crown Prosecutor) prosecuted, Mr. J. D. Willis appeared for Mathers, and Mr. W. E. Leicester for Robinson. The Chief-Justice, commenting on the evidence of Constable W. Ritchie witness for the Crown, said that he considered witness to be straightforward and capable, and a man who. in his opinion, should go far irrlhe service. The jury, after a retirement- of forty minutes, returned a verdict of not guilty. Both prisoners were accordingly discharged.
