CAR CRASHES INTO CRATER
NO TRACE OF OCCUPANTS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, November 3. A iive-seater motor-car was almost totally wrecked through crashing down the crater at the top of Mount Eden last night. The car left the road, near the Trig Station, and apparently turned over and over until it came to rest ten feet from the bottom of the crater. The path of its fall was clearly indicated by the crushed and uprooted scrub, and pieces of broken glass were scattered over a wide area. Pieces of torn fabric from the hood were lying at intervals down the side of the slope, and scraps of broken body work were found some distance away from the wrecked car. The offside front wheel wns wrenched completely off. and came to rest amongst some scoria at the bottom af the pit. The greater part of the bodywork was wrenched from the chassis. The windscreen and its frame were torn off. and the bows of the hood splintered. There was no trace of the occupants of the car, snd the owner has not been located by .the ncdicfl.
