SOVIET AND CHINA
REDS ATTACK LAHASUSU (Rec. November 3, 5.5 p.m.) Shanghai, November 2. Two thousand Soviet cavalry, five aeroplanes and six gunboats opened a new attack on Lahasusu on Wednesday, according to an official wireless report from Mukden. Following the fighting the Reds broke through three Chinese defence lines near Fauchin, where the situation is also reported to be critical. Admiral Shen Hungli Is in command of the retiring Huachuan. Two Soviet gunboats were sunk. While the largest attack has been made during the whole crisis, it is still uncertain whether General Bluecher will commence his repeatedly threatened advance.
