LARGE SCALE WOOL PRODUCTION
NEGOTIATIONS FOR GREAT AREA IN AUSTRALIA (Rec. November 3, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 2. The “Yorkshire Observer” states that a group of the biggest textile organisations has been invited to participate in an Australian land deal involving a million and a half of capital, with a view to wool-production on a scale which it is claimed will place raw material on the market at half the current price. Negotiations have already been commenced, but the outcome is doubtful. The land is stated to consist of a million acres of Hampton Plains property, Western Australia.
