LAND TAX APPEALS.
HEARING OF CLAIMS . “Will it be possible to arrange for prompt hearing of appeals by the tribunal set up under the Land and Income Tax Amendment Act?” asked Mr. J. A. Nash (Reform, Palmerston) in the House of Representatives on Saturday. Mr. Nash explained that, in the case of subdivisions, it was customary to hold auction sales in the ’ month of February, and it was desired that facilities for the hearing of appeals should be made available before that date. The Acting-Leader of the House (Hon. G. W. Forbes) said he would be pleased to go into the matter with the officers of the Department. The desire was that there should be no delay in allowing the claims to be heard. '
