The following is the draw for the second round of matches in the inter-second-ary schools’ competition for the Walker and Hall Cup, for teams of eight girls a-side (courts and times in parenthese): October 12: Queen Margaret v. Marsden (Marsden, 9.15 a.m.) ; Girls’ College v. East (Girls’ College. 9 a.m.) ; Chilton House v. Technical College (Technical College, 9.15 a.m.) ; Hutt Valley High School, a bye. . October 19: Queen Margaret v. Wellington East, (East, 9 a.m.); Marsden v. Girls’ College (Marsden, 9.15 a.m.) ; Hutt Valley v. Technical College (Technical College, 9.15 a.m.) ; Chilton House, a bye. October 26: Marsden v. Chilton House (Palmer Street, 9 a.m.); Girls’ College v. Technical College (Girls’ College, 9 a.m.) ; Wellington East v. Hutt Valley High School (9.15 a.m.) ; Queen Margaret, a bye.
November 2: Queen Margaret v. Chilton House (Technical College, 9.15 a.m.) ; Girls’ College v. Hutt Valley High (H.V.H.S.. 9.15 a.m.) ; Marsden v. East Girls’ College (Palmer Street, 9.15 a.m.) ; Technical College, a bye. November 9: Queen Margaret v. Girls’ College (Girls’ College, 9 a.m.) ; East Girls College v. Technical College (Technical College. 9 a.m.) ; Chilton House v. Hutt Valley High School (Brougham Hill, 9.15 a.m.); Marsden, a bye. November 16; Queen Margaret v. Hutt Valley High (Palmer Street. 9.15 a.m.) : Marsden v. Technical College (Marsden, 9.15 a.m.) ; Girls’ College v. Chilton House (Brougham Hill, 9 a.m.) ; East, a bye. November 23: Queen Margaret v. Technical College (Technical College, 9 a.m.) : Marsden v. Hutt Valley High School (Palmer Street, 9.15 a.m.); East Girls’ College v. Chilton House (East, 9 a.m.); Girls’ College, a bye. At the conclusion of the above series of games a tournament will be held, commencing on Saturday. November 30. The above competition will be held under the auspices of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association, and will be controlled by Mr. W. J. Melody.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ COMPETITION, GRADY CUP.
The primary '. schools’ competition for the Grady Cup for teams of eight girls a-side will commence on Friday next, and entries close with the honorary secretary. Miss A. Hilliard, Box 1362, Wellington, on Tuesday next. Twenty schools participated in this competition last season, and it is expected that 24 teams will be taking part this season.
