TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

The anti-cyclone is now centred to the east of New Zealand, and the first wave of a depression of the westerly type crossed the bourn Island this afternoon. North-westerly winds, backing to west and to south-west, in from 24 to 36 hours; moderate to strong generally, and at times squally in Cooa and Foveaux Straits. Seas rather rough south of Cape Egniout and off-shore south of Castlepoint; elsewhere in New Zealand waters moderate. Moderate to strong northerly, later backing to southwesterly winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea; moderate to rather rough seas. Weather cloudy and unsettled with fairly general rain, but only scattered in eastern" districts. Temperatures mild, but a cold change working up from the south during to-morrow.
