SUMMER PASTIMES
TAKARO CLUB’S SEASON. Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, October 2. Favoured by perfect spring weather, the Takaro Bowling, Croquet and Tennis Club officially opened their season this afternoon. A large number of club members, with their friends, and members of sister chibs, were present. The club’s courts and greens, Which are in excellent condition, were fully occupied nil the afternoon, nnd many present thoroughly enjoyed n pleasant afternoon’s Sport. Mr. A. Cooksley. acting-president of the club, welcomed the visitors, and hoped that they would eujo.v themselves. The Mayor (Mr. A. J. Graham), in declaring the cluti’S season open, first of all congratulated the club upon the success it hnd attained during its existence. Nothing but cordin) relations hnd been experienced between the club’s committee nnd the Borough Council, nnd he assured club members that nil reasonable requests would be granted. Members of sister clubs wished the Takaro Club every success in the coming season.
