EVANS BAY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Evans Bay Yacht and Motor Boat Club was held on Wednesday night. The commodore (Mr. F. C. Holmes) presided over an exceptionally large attendance. The secretary. In presenting the annual report and balance-sheet, said the season had been a most successful season. As contrasted with the previous report, they were able to show a very considerable Increase in membership, and also the financial position was very satisfactory. The present committee, on taking office, found that they had a deficit of £l5, and the previous’season’s prize money to contend with. By means of their strenuous efforts, these liabilities were squared, and the present year was concluded with a credit balance of £56 18s. Considerable Interest was caused this season bi’ the club’s entry into outboard motor racing, which sport has already proved very popular in Wellington. It is hoped to specially pursue centre-board racing next season. It is expected there will probably be twenty entrants in most of the events. Two presentations were made during the evening. One was a cup. to be known as the "Hadfield-Smith Cup.” which was donated by some of the older members In memory of one of the club’s founders. The other was an honours board presented by Messrs. Rush Bros, and Gray. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron. Mr. A. A. George; president. Mr. J. Paterson: vice-presidents. Messrs. R. Semple. M.P., Captain Mackindoe, G. Jackson, F. Lamberg: commodore. Mr. F. C. Holmes: vice-commodore. Mr. L. Ibbetson: rear-commodore. Mr. R. Durrant; hon. secretary. Mr. C. Lindsay: hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Lang: handicapper. Mr. H. Elliot: judge, Mr. W. Wagstaff; committee, Messrs. L. Bennett. R. Bolland. N. S. Leake. C. Highit. W PyecrofL J. Nixon, F. Harland, J. Roberta.
