ORPHANS’ CLUB

A large attendance witnessed the installation by Mr. W. H. Bennett of Dr. Carberry as chairman for the second meeting of the Orphan*’ Club on Saturday night. In a fine programme were items by the orchestra, songs from Messrs. Bohlson, Austin Blackie, Davis and Wilkinson, recitations by Messrs. Horrobin and Oswin, a character sketch by Mr. Tingey, a banjo solo from Mr. Ware, and a ventriloquist act by Mr. Jacobsen. The chairman’s remarks were very entertaining and community singing, led by Mr. Mason, wound un th» proceedings.
