BOXING
AUCKLAND BOUTS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, June 3. Two professional ten-rounds boxing contests for purses of £75 each were 'staged at the Town Hall to-night. In the first, Matt Hatton (Auckland) defeated Joe Boyle (Australia) on points,, after the bout had gone the full distance. It was a poor exhibition, the referee having twice to warn the contestants to fight. In the second contest Frank Taylor (Auckland) defeated Cyril Hurne (Wellington) on points. This'was a bright exhibition from start to finish, and Hurne did well for his first appearance in a professional ring.
