FEILDING TOURNEY WOODVILLE WINS MEN’S SECTION . Feilding, June 3. In perfect weather 117 teams competed in the ladies’ seven-a-side and men’s five-a-side hockey tourney at the Polo Grounds to-day. A very large crowd of supporters encouraged the many teams in their respective games. Although an early start was made and eight playing grounds were used, the final games were played in semi-dark - ness, and in the case of the ladies’ final darkness won. In the men’s final Woodville defeated Carterton by 1 goal to nil, and in the ladies’ final Hine Koa (Feilding) played Dannevirke Old Girls. No score was registered, and although the game proceeded 7 or 8 minutes over the time no decision could be made, and in deep darkness it was decided that each team should hold the cup for six months.
