Foxton, April 18. The monthly sitting of the Foxton Jlagistrate's Court was held on Thursday. Mr. .1, ,L. Stout presided. T. Taylor, a local Native youth, was convicted and fined £l, wjth costs 10s„ for being the driver of a motor vehicle which capsized on the Beach Hoad on March 3. Taylor did not hold a license to drive. Frederick AlcKenzje was convicted and ordered to pay costs for failing to register a hive of bees. W. Thompson and W. Baird were each fined 55., with costs 10s., for riding unligbted bicycles in the borough Judgment was given for plaintiff in tlie following civil undefended cases: —A. E. Tongs v. A. E. MeKenna, £5 Is., costs £1 10s. Oil.; same v. A. G. Ilagley, £l3 17s, 1011.. costs £2 18s.: S. P. Burr and H. AL Rogers v. A. Taylor, £l5 125., costs £2 195.; E. AL Wyllie v. G. Rankin, jun., £2 12s. 6d„ costs £2 ss. 6d.; same v. F. Vertongpm jun.. £7 18sr. 6d.. costs £1 10s. 6d. C. Nelson was ordered to pay AL E. Perreati £9 16s. Bd., with costs 15s. 6d., forthwith. in default ten days’ imprisonment, warrant suspended as long as defendant pays 10s. a month. 11. Tatana was ordered to pay Al. E. Perreau £34 10s. Id. forthwith, in default 28 days’ imprisonment, warrant suspended as long as defendant pays 10s. a month. Nominations closed on Wednesday for the municipal elections, when the following nominations were received:—Mayoralty. Mark Edwin Perreau (elected unopposed). Council: Robert John Thompson, John Ross. Samuel Edgar Cowley, Frank Luclnsky. Roore Rangiheuea, Alfred Robert Crowe. Charles Alfred IV. Hunt. Matthew Henry Walker, Douglas Robert Barron, Charles Cave Rand. Frederick Robinson.
