WELLINGTON CENTRE A meeting of the Wellington Centre <f the New Zealand Swimming Associatioi was held last night, Mr. P. Coira occtpying tlia chair. ; The Canterbury Centre wrote tbanling the centre for the very cordial riception accorded the Canterbury swinmers attending the New Zealand ehanpionships carnival at Wellington. ■' The chairman advised that My. J ARNE BORG VISIT CANCELLED ■ J. .. ; Arne Borg,-the famous Swedish swim- . mer, will not now visit Wellington or other centres of New Zealand with ti/e exception of -Auckland, where it is expected he will compete at a carnival. , At last night’s meeting of the Wellington Swimming Centre the parent body advised by letter that cabled advice had been received to the effect that Borg would be unable to carry out the arrangements made for his visit to New. Zealand last month, and they had been therefore cancelled. Borg would arrive , by the Aorangi from Sydney, and would merely pass through Auckland. He was - willing to appear at a carnival at AucKr land during the stay of the Aorangi there. So far as,the rest of New Zealand was concerned, however, Borg s visit was definitely off.
